GUARDIAN ANGEL

Her legs felt heavy as she made that slow walk into the park. Her eyes scanned round the park, looking for someone familiar. There were chatters everywhere, children laughing, playing, running all round the park. She found a deserted bench near a small playground.
There were parents fussing over their children playing on the slides, see-saws and swings. Their faces beaming with pride as they watched their children go down the slide. Then, she saw the 3 year old running towards her. Her smile lighted up a few megawatts. She stretched out her arms. She was waiting for him. She wanted so so much to hug him, her child, her pride and joy...her life.

Alas, her arms never embraced the child. He just ran past her. "Didn't he saw me? I was only gone for a short while. Has he forgotten all about me. His mother? His Ummi?" She wondered. Tears rolled down her pale white cheeks. She remembered the time when he would just hugged her. "I love you, Ummi." he would say and planting kisses on her cheeks.

She sat alone on the bench in the park, oblivious to those surrounded her. Her eyes were transfixed to just one person, one child alone, her child, her son. She saw him playing alone. Her heart broke to pieces when she saw him fell. She ran as fast as she could towards him. She heard him cry. "Ummi! Ummi!"
She wanted so badly to pick him up, to hold him, to blow his cut, to stroke his hair, to comfort him. She just could not. She just stood there next to him. He looked at her and cried "Ummi! Ummi! It is painful. Look blood, ummi." Tears flew down her cheeks. She cried for her hurt child but her hands seemed frozen. She could not help him. She felt so helpless. She could not moved them to pick him up. She could not do anything about it.
Every cry he made, every plea he made felt like broken glasses cut her heart. "I love you, baby. Ummi love you so much. Please someone help my child" She cried, looking around for someone to help her fallen angel. "Please! Someone help him!" She screamed as tears fell uninterrupted to the ground.
"Akil! Akil!" She heard a familiar husky voice coming from a distance. She saw her husband, running towards her...towards her son. She saw him, picking Akil up, hugging him, stroking his hair. She felt a big pang of jealousy. Then she heard Akil said in between his sobs "Abah, I saw ummi. I saw ummi. She was here. She was crying. Is Ummi coming back?"
Her husband buried his face in Akil's hair. She heard him sob quietly. "Allah loves her more than us, son. Ummi will never come back. Allah loves her.".......*do you think I should continue?*
