I just received a call from Ministry of Internal Affairs. I have been eyeing this position for a long time. Every application I made was initially rejected. Finally, the Head of Internal Affairs decided to take me in. He told me that I was headhunted because I have all the natural qualities, that no other person can do and he does not need to fork $$$ to train me.

However, he told me that this will be a 5-months contract. My current boss has also agreed to release me during that time. It is a trial period for me and the organisation. A trial period for me to make sure that I can actually fit into the job. Afterall, it is an extremely challenging job, a lot of thinking on the feet, systems re-engineering, budgeting et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. I have to be jacks for all trades now...no more specialisation. I would be on 24hour call.

I am not concern about the pay...I will definitely get a HUGE paycut. But I think I will get lots of job satisfaction from it. So 1 Sept 2004, I'll start work at the Ministry itself....Ministry of Internal Affairs as.....a SAHM!
