Children tend to have very simplistic views about issues around them, which I think makes their lives very simple. Have a problem? Just get rid of it. Simple. They don't dwell on it, think about the pros and cons and all those mind boggling analysis that we, highly intelligent adults, have the tendency to do when we are faced with problems.

Recently, my youngest one who just turned 16 months over the weekend, has been going round screaming, biting and pulling the hair of her 3 older sisters. The same phase that the older 3 gals went through when they were her age. So it was no big deal to Dh & I. What I am proud about the older gals is that none of them retaliated. They cried but never hit the little girl back. And this baby girl knows that all she need is to hug, cuddle and kiss the big sisters...and all will be forgotten. However, the sisters do become frustrated.

Anyway, an afternoon of frustration caused my 5-year old, Ani and my 4 year old, Nani to have this conversation with that angelic, round eyed lil girl listening in the background.

Nani: I wish I have a good little sister. Nina always get whatever she wants. Why must Mak buy a baby that is naughty?

Ani : Mak did not buy her. Mak gave birth to her. (Isn't she smart? 8) )

Nani (puzzled): So cannot return her back and get another one is it?

Ani (also puzzled): Dunno. Maybe cannot.

Nani: Then can put her back into Mak's stomach or not? (incidentally, this is not the 1st time she had brought this issue up.)

Ani: Dunno (and continue playing. Maybe thinking. Why didn't she think of this first...so she also can put Nani back into Mak's stomach)
